LAUREUS WORLD SPORTS ACADEMY

As a member of the Laureus World Sports Academy, I am proud to be a part of a unique association of 41 of the greatest living sports legends. Each year the Academy members choose the winners of the Laureus World Sports Awards and act as global ambassadors for the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation, a charitable organization which uses the power of sport to address social problems through a worldwide program of sports related community development initiatives. The Laureus Academy members share a belief in the power of sport to break down barriers, bring people together and to improve the lives of young people around the world. Since its inception, Laureus has helped almost 150,000 young people. Among the problems tackled are AIDS awareness, drug and alcohol abuse, anti-social behavior, street crime and landmine risk.
