GRAND SLAM
Martina Navatilova
Paintings - Original Artwork
Limited Edition
Created in secret over four years, 'Tennising' transforms the physical language of tennis into art.
The exhibited artwork was put together across the four mythic Grand Slam locations. Using shapes and objects taken from the very courts themselves, the various works of art encapsulate the impact that a tennis ball makes – in paint! Martina was then given a canvas on which to leave behind a trace of the clay from Roland Garros and the hard courts of Flushing Meadow and Melbourne, with the end result a riot of colours and fabrics.

What I like is that you hit the ball, but you don’t exactly know what you’re doing.
